 Black Cat Cabaret

The Black Cat opened its doors on January 11th 2013 and has fast become London’sdecadent descendant of the legendary Le Chat Noir club in Paris.

The co-founders of Boom Boom Club / La Rêve bring you their most diverse and exceptional band of performers yet, transforming the Titanic Ballroom of Café

Expect street singers and live music, a grand spectacle of acrobats and dancers, a melee of comics, illusionists and exotic performers, as well as a contemporary take on belle époque Chinese shadow theatre.

Drawing inspiration from the Absinthe-soaked, dark and daring heyday of Montmartre’s cabaret underworld, The Black Cat is a place to discover decidedly modern performance in its many strange and wondrous forms - from the sacred to the profane, from the lyrical to the downright despicable.

A spectacular and provocative stage show, with walkabout entertainment, fine dining and authentic old-world grandeur are all to be found within the walls of London’s most historic purpose-built variety venue.

The Black Cat is where London’s great and good rub shoulders with strangers from distant lands and louche reprobates, prrresided over by one eclectic cat-about-town, a cat of exquisite style and taste.

The Black Cat’s revolving roster of radicals includes (January run) chanteuse Laurie Hagen and freakshow fire-breather Chrisalys, along with aerialist Katharine Arnold and burlesque starlet Vicky Butterfly – also responsible for the production design and costume. Prince of darkness compere Dusty Limits provides direction for the ensemble set-pieces, ably aided and abetted by Michael Roulston on piano.
